The Kaleidoscope of Night Hike Friday, August 1
 Gaze upon the summer night to see the Summer Triangle and learn how ancient peoples gave meaning to what they saw in the night sky. Please pre-register for the hike.
Flashlights with special lenses will be provided to enhance our ability to see while maintaining our night vision. Please wear sturdy shoes as we will be hiking in the prairie. Time: 9 - 11 pm

Chef Richard Centala will treat you to some of the season's most delectable delights. This dinner will feature: coffee-marinated grilled pork with spring fruit salsa; herbed crusted seared tuna; grilled wild mushroom ravioli with brown butter and garlic; grilled asparagus; roasted corn relish; grilled cantaloupe, potato salad with sour cream and oranges, berry and goat cheese; pistachio salad; grilled pitas; campfire pie; and rustic raspberry tart. Make sure to join Jen Howell for an after-dinner prairie hike.

Native Plant Seed Collection Techniques
Saturday, August 16
Join us for an informational workshop on prairie grass and wildflower seed collecting techniques.
We will be covering topics such as:
collecting native wildflower and grass seed;
cleaning/processing seed;
properly drying and storing seed;
sowing widflower/grass seed; and
ethics of seed collecting.
The progam will conclude with a brief field trip to the Institue's prairie plantings for some hands-on experience collecting wildflower seed. Come prepared with appropriate shoes (no open-toed sandals please).
